tranny help.. i think?
hey guys, i have a 79 vette with a 4 speed borg warner with a hurst shifter kit...i have a slight problem...i was comming home from the shop yesterday, and all of a sudden the cars back wheels locked uyp on me and slid the car sideways....everytime i would try to drive the car, it would go a little bit, and then lock up and slid, i was able to drive the car home slowly, but everytime i would get off the gas it would lock up and go crazy, and now that i tried to move it to my backyard, i hear the tranny grinding in first............could it be that my shifter got loose and moved, so maybe now i have to re adjust it? please help.. thanks

I had that happen as a kid on my four wheeler. Rear wheels locked up at about 40mph and slid for about 150 feet. Cause - engine locked up. 
It sounds like something big broke in the tranny. Hard to say exactly what without seeing it. Will it roll free in neutral?
I've seen that happen when the rear end breaks.

i'm going to try and adjust the linkage today and see if it helps... thanks
