Quick Vette Q
Found what I think is a 68 Vette (I didnt talk to anyone about it, but from what I saw it looks like a 68).
Now, the little "numbers badge" on the console near the shifter had these numbers
Top Left: 356
Bottom Left: 454?
Bottom Right: 851
Top Right: ??? (I forgot)
356 horsepower?
454 cubic inch?
8.51 compression ratio?
...is that what all of that means?
Thanks vette knowledgable dudes!
I was guessin on the 68 because it LOOKS like it should have the chrome front & rear bumpers, single piece rear end, & no Stingray badges on the side (& only the left sideview mirror)...mostly I was going off of the Stingray badge thing, I know little about vettes & have learned a good bit reading through posts here.
To be certain look for a door button next to the handle and dash ignition, if those are presesnt it's a 99% chance it's a '68.
Grab some pics and we'll help you out.

easiest ways to ID a 68 is
push button door opener,
reverse tail lights on lower valence
ingnition switch on the dash not the column
no 454 from factory in 68, 427
no engine id on shifter console
good louck and post some tpics

Run the numbers, post them here, and we'll tell you what you're looking at.
FWIW: Seems to me the door buttons on a '68 would be a dead giveaway for model year.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

1971, #s matching 454.
He has all of the missing parts (it wasnt complete) including rear lights, bumpers, rack, etc.
Some rust I noticed under the rear, not sure how bad...parts were crusted over white.
Asking $15k if car sold incomplete (with parts) or $21k with parts installed ($2k in parts + cost of time to install)
I was hopin for cheaper (considering it needs some cleaning & a new paint job [current paint is new, but poorly done])...oh well, I'll wait til I'm outta college & have a real job + more time to work on one.
