Default '68 update-need some help

I have been putting alot of time on this the past week, Did a full tune up and engine runs great, a compression checked came up within specs. only some minor leaks from the valve covers, I already have pressure washed the block, and stripped it down to repaint. Can anyone post a good pic on a stock engine bay I can use as a guide.

As far as the interior goes I have gotten the console and dash cleaned up and re-done...the radio and tach doesn't work..as well as the clock. I replaced all the fuses and still nothing.. clock is no big deal... but would like the original radio to work..any suggetions on this?

The tach will work if I remove the end from the distributor and twist it.. is this the tach gear that needs replacing?

A good thing is all instrument lights work as well as the fiber optics...which is pretty cool.

will post pics when I get it all back together.

two quick thouhgts

get a voolt meter and check the radio harness to seei if you are getting power the the connector, if so your radio is the problem

for the tack, yest it is possible for the worm gear in the distributor to go, start the engine a take a peek to see if it is turning or not, if it is, try a little cable lube in the tack cable

My bay is reasonably stock. MSD on the side, but other than that she's stock.

327/350 - If yours is the 327/300 then you know the valve covers are painted orange - not chromed. Hope this helps

Thanks...this will help.. So on a 327/300 hp, should the oil filler neck be orange, or is it aluminum like yours??

I stripped my filler neck when I had the manifold off and forgot to paint it. I believe (someone chime in if I'm wrong) that it was painted orange.

ALL STOCK/ORIGINAL '68 down to the hoses (GM) and smog pump. I still have the original stamped orange covers (mint), but like the aluminum for show purposes.
