Default Storage Compartments

Hi - gonna be bringing my 75 coupe interior back to stock (Med. Saddle, as per door pillar tag), currently bad, faded, aftermarket black. Have now got carpets, kickplates and handbrake console, but now mystified about storage compartments. Questions:

1. Presume the frame and buttons should match interior color (i.e. med saddle)? Mine's currently black.

2. What are the storage lids are thick card/MDF - what were they originally?

3. There are no bins as such, just a thick plastic material, a bit like a bag! Presume that the 2 LH storage bins were plastic? (and what color?)

If anyone's got any photos of the storage area, and compartment interiors that'd be great!

Thanks!

Diagrams in the assembly instruction manual (AIM) would be a big help to you.

1. Frames and trim are interior color. Buttons (locks) should be bright metal -- not particularly chrome.

2. Original doors can be pressboard or plastic. Most of the repro doors are plastic.

3. Two bins. Center compartment is the glove box; it's a black fuzzy covered cardboard and will have the glove box light lens in it. Second is the lift out tray above the jack compartment. Also black fuzzy covered pressed board. Repros are plastic.

OK Mike, thanks for the update. I'll check now but it looks like I'll be spending more money with Ecklers (including an AIM)!

This link might help. They start to show the storage area around page 24.

AIMs are worth every penny of their cost!

Order a reproduction owner's manual for your car if you don't have an original.
