Default 1972 Corvette Information

I could use some help on a couple of things.
1. Does anyone know why my windshield wiper door opens by itself after I turn off the engine?

2. What is a reasonable price for a passenger side ignition wire cover in good shape?

Any input will be appreciated.

Ive seen them from $15 in fair condition at swap meets.

Doc rebuild has OEM anywhere between $40-50
The prices may not be current
With Doc some prices havent changed and some have
Always call and get the price.

Default Ignition shield help

Thanks for the info. Does anyone have any pics of how factory ignitions shields should look for the passenger side. I have the shields for the driver's side all the way down to the chrome shield on the exhaust manifold. I'd like to find the rest of the parts for the passenger side.

Thanks,

Get on line and request a Corvette parts book from Corvette America, Mid-America Motorworks, etc. They sell all of the parts and have parts lists in the book that lay out the right pieces for each year and engine. I believe an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM book) for your year will do the same, but they you'll have to go to some supplier's catalog to order them anyway. Good luck on your project.

Try the check valve by the drivers side of carb first for the vacumme leak. Thats where mine was and it fixed the pop up problem.
