I was unusually pleased when this car was totalled by hurricane Floyd!!!

The only reason I don't plaster the body of my '76 'vette with decals of lemons or indulge my craving for vengence on it with a sledge hammer is that I need to unload it on some poor, unsuspecting, sucker. Its designers must have had ambitions of emulating the three stooges and it seems to have been assembled by a bunch of drunk monkeys.

I like my Corvette although I get really pissed every time I work on the car. I think Chevrolet built the car from the inside out and had monkeys put it together. A simple task like changing radiators or water pumps etc. is a major task that takes a minimum of 2 days to complete. And don't even think of replacing the starter. The entire exhaust must come down before removing the starter.

I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY CAR, THAT IS WHY I HAVE KEEP IT SO LONG. IT HAS 115000 MILES ON IT AND I JUST OVERHAULED IT A YEAR AGO AT 105000. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD A WRENCH ON THE ENGINE, EXCEPT FOR MINOR NORMAL REPAIRS THAT OCCURED OVER THE YEARS.

I was so nervous the day I signed the papers on my Vet that I had to ask someone to drive it home for me. I had driven Vets for several years just never had one of my own. I am very careful about who drives it only because something of an Indy 500 driver comes out in anyone that gets behind the wheel of it. I would feel responsible to their families for their Indy 500 driving. Even though I now own a Lincoln and love it -- it is balanced by the Vet. I love it like a child, The years have been good to both of us but we both require continuing loving maintenance. I would definitely suggest owning one to someone that enjoys driving just for the pleasure of it -- but not for someone with children. To drive children or for children to learn to drive requires "two tons of steele". And lets face it one does not drive around with children in the car just for the pleasure of driving around!

Greatest toy in the world. Easy to work on and you feel like a kid driving it. Great power and handling and 17 MPG. NO COMPUTER! You can fix it yourself.
Corvetts only come in red.Everything else is a wantabe.

I LOVE my Vette. It handles great, looks great, sounds great and could out run any Yugo on the road. It has a special paint and pin stripe offered only in 1978. It is white with blue accents and pin stripping. I have had a tremdous amount of compiments on the paint, which is original by the way. My wife and I take off the t-tops and go cruising when the tempreture in not too brutal. It does not have air conditioning and on a typical day about 3,000 degrees of heat come into the passenger compartment from the engine. But I love to drive it and see the young boys and men staring at the car, or maybe it is my wife they are looking at. Either way, I would not trade it for anything except for another Corvette.
