Ok, so have all the 68/69 cars molded in the exhaust cutouts in the rear roll pan? And when you buy headers, are they for side pipes or shorts then adding to them? I have Headman 1 3/4 downtubes and they go straight back.

Sounds like you have a standard set of headers for under car exhaust. There are 2 or 3 different designs. I prefer the header to make the exit to the outside of the car and then bolt on the side pipe Hooker style. Others, like Patriot for example, connect to an under car header and then elbow out from underneath to a sidepipe. These give less performance IMHO. Any number of styles can be fabricated as the above post show.
The rear exhaust panel with cut-outs can be replaced with a smooth one. Ecklers, Vanacor, and others make a replacement. Try Vanacorvette.com for pics. I was not happy with their customer service. Wouldn't return phone calls and promised me a hood and then sold it to another CF member.

Hello I was woundering what the real benefit to haveing the stainless steel ones verses the ceramic coated hookers was. Does anybody have some more vids of these headers idleing and revving? thanks a lot
If it is just a driver for the street and racing isn't what your doing with it, get the pipes if you want them. A few horsepower one way or the other probably won't make any noticable differences.
