I just aquired a 25th anniversary that has been sitting for seven years out side under a cover . Has anyone actually opened the hood on a 78 using screw drivers through the access hole as described in an earler post?
I got the passinger side right away, so far i have 5 hours trying to open the drivers side. thanks

I have done it more than once. It is fairly easy once you have done it. Take the plugs out, and stick your middle finger in to feel the latch (no jokes here guys!). Once you can feel it you know where the screwdrive has to go and how it feels. I take a fairly thick, but not too long screwdriver. Once you get it in the latch notch, you just have to put some pressure on it to throw the latch. The problem you have is the screwdriver likes to slip off sometimes. Once you do it one time you'll go "Wow, that is pretty cool". I thought some engineer was thinking! Unfortunately I don't thinnk '68 had them, which tells me the engineers f'ed up in the first place, so the lose some extra credit points!.
