I just got the cam out of my 81. I was wondering if there is a way to tell if its original. The only information on the cam is the "CCS2" stamped on the end with the distributor gear. Then there are a few numbers and letters stamped between the lobes, C1, H, CWC and EP6. I can't find any references in any of the books I have. Thanks in advance. By the way the cam is shot. There are chips on the sides of all the lobes and lots of score marks on the lobes themselves.
Before #4 bearing you should see "GM" for General motors. After #4 bearing, you should see the part number 3896929. On the opposite side of the GM, you should see the casting number 3896930 and a horizontal diamond.
The #4 bearing is the one before the distributor and oil pump dirive.
