Default Power Antenna Assembly

Hey, could anyone help me with the power antenna assembly on my '79 vette. Chilton's manual states in step number one, to lower the left hand side of the exhaust system. I took off the clamp that holds the tailpipe up, and the clamp just before the muffler. I was thinking I could just take the muffler off right there.. Well it's not budging, and I don't have a torch to try to heat it up. I tried some WD-40 to try to loosen up the rust, and no luck..
Could anyone offer any advice to help me get this out of the way so I can get to the power antenna motor?

Thanks for any help

Do you still have a cat and a rear Y pipe? Drop the Y and both mufflers disconnecting it from the convertor. That's how I've done it. The 4 bolts at the convertor may just snap when you try to take em apart. Good time to do some cleanup, too.

That is the best way. You disconnect the 4 rear converter bolts and the whole back of the exhaust will fall out. Easy to get back on when you are finished too.

Be careful around the bezel. I would cover the body with several layers of protective tape before unscrewing it especialy if you do not have a Bezel wrench (and WHO does?!?!).

Pull the carpet back in the rear compartment behind the driver to disconnect the harness before dropping the antenna assy. You need to unscrew the signal cable from the antenna body too.

Good Luck!
