Default Engine ID number question

I am trying to identify a non original small block engine in my Corvette. The only numbers on the front engine pad are MK18800. Is there any way of telling what engine this is by those numbers. Thanks,Bob

That sounds like an engine rebuilders stamp. Cannot tell any thing from that. So need the rest of the numbers, block number, head numbers, etc might give you an idea of if it is a mix and match engine.

MK could be 67-68 Camaro and Nova 327 CID 275hp 4V with standard transmission.

Check the pad again. You should also find an engine assembly date.
