I haven't seen any solenoids either in the catalogs as repos. I believe mine was rebuilt prior to me purchasing the car.
It is a small electric motor with wires to connect so I would think that they could be rebuilt. I would probably take the motor to an electric shop that rebuilds alternators, starters etc.
Also do you have the plastic screen that covers the back of the cowl induction hood behind the solenoid assy? That part seems to be very hard to find too and is not repo'd in the catalogs. It took me two years to find one!
no i do not have that plastic screen, thanks for the reply, now to find someone to rebuild it.. strange this just happened. i took all the stuff apart over the summer. painted the cowl door red,and the frame hammered silver,,came out nice. painted under the hood g m chassis black and had a crossed flag logo made,as i dumped the under hood blanket after a retaining pin fell into the fan while driving ,,shooting thru my hood!---------------------------------
From your PIC of your under hood grill area. I see you do have the rubber bumper stop that is ususally missing and your nuts holding the grill looks to be the correct. I am still looking for correct fasteners for my grill. They have been on "back order" from a Corvette repo co. since last May!
The plastic screens you can some time find them on ebay. The last one I saw went for $15. I had just bought mine from a NCRS judging buddy back east for $25 and then I needed to repaint it as it was painted silver and I wanted it black.
the rubber bumpers are in the corvette central catalog,,i just bought that not too long ago,,,the last one was glued on... they have other ones for the hood also,,,i dont know about the fastners,,did you try pipers salvage? i e mailed them for a sylonoid,, doesnt hurt to have spare parts!!( until i fix mine)b t w ,nice choice of year!!! also my favorite,,,carl
The solenoid is available in repro or NOS/used from Ebay. I bought one there for my 69 Camaro (same part). Check the AM to be sure for your year. I suspect you need #1114427 so try a search on Ebay. Used GM or NOS is best. The First Generation Camaro parts dealer will have repros for about $40 or so.

I believe that is the correct part number. But something in the back of my mind tells me that this solenoid was also used elsewhere on the Vette, maybe spark or idle control. May be able to find it under those.
