I put 17" Polished Tork Thrust II on my '77 and I love them. Like they say on the Chrome ones the chrome will peal and you have problems and they will rust also. Teh polished Alum won't do either but you do have to polish them once in a while. I use my '77 as a almost daily driver and I polish them about once a month and they look like new. The tire size is easy to figure so you don't have to change your speed o gear if you stay with the same diamater size on the tire and wheel combo. Here is a web site I used to figure out my tire size to use withe the 17" wheels
http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
It is easy to use and it will tell you what you need to know. Here is my White '77 with the new tires and wheels. I did not use an adaptor, just the normal 4" backspace. The tires I used were Riken Raptor tires. I bought them off the internet and they were not very expensive at all. They are a directional tire and they made my Vette handle a lot better. The size I used was Front...245/45ZR17 and the Rear 255/50ZR 17 Here is a picture of my 1977 Vette

Gary, thanks for the info! Do you have some more pics you could either post or send to me? More close up and so I can see the width of both front and rear tires?

I think I have decided to go for 15X8 with raised white letter tires. I am leaning towards American Racing Torq Thrust II. They told me I needed 5x4.75 bolt pattern with a 3 3/4" offset, does that sound right? It is for a 77 vette.

Iam looking at getting them from Fastlane Speed and Rod Shop on Ebay. Anyone dealt with them?

TIA

Here are a couple of more pictures it they will help. I do not have any that show the tire width.

I have no trouble with the tires rubbing at all.

Looks great with the bigger wheels. Did you lower it as well, or just install the wheels?

Red73 - VERY NICE - possibly a bit low for me, but you got me thinking. Do you have a post on what you did under the rear (ie: offset trailing arms, leaf springs, etc) ?
