Thanks everyone for posting your pictures. I have had 3 black cars and I am in the process of painting my 69 black as well. I have a question for the forum and sorry to hi jack. I would like to do mine black as the main color and a charcoal or darker grey in the Baldwin Motion paint pattern. My 69 is a L46 w/ sidepipes and don't plan on making it a true clone. I just like how it looks and want to break it up a little. Like a lot of you, I watch what Chip Foose does and many times, don't like the beginning ideas. But, when he is done and has two tone paint on an old Chevelle or Nove etc, it looks incredible. Any comments are welcomed. Keep em coming.
Thank you!

I'm sorry...but I think I missed the question. That was more of a statement. So as a response I will say..... I love that paint scheme and think Charcoal would look nice...Or a Matte Black would be really subtle but cool
Palm Beach...your vette is good looking and appears to have the same wheel type/maker as the 15 x 8.5" wheels I have that were on my 76. Progressive Wheels is on the spinner and they look exactly like yours though yours don't look like 15" wheels anymore.
Are they Progressive wheels and do you know of a source for them?
Since we're already on this topic, who has a black Vette with black wheels? (other than the one above) I've been thinking about it for mine, but I've only seen a few. There's a flat black '76 in another thread that I think it wicked cool. I think the combo: flat black, gloss black rims with a polished lip would be amazing. What say you?
hmmm, perhaps like mine?
the wheels are aluminum that i had powder-coated black. it was a little tough finding a wheel like this (non-spoke style) with the correct backspacing.

I re read my post and it was more of a statement. Sorry. I like the idea of the matte black too. Never seen that before. Thanks for the idea. Just wondered what the forum thinks of a Baldwin Motion paint job on a non Baldwin car?
Since we just finished this project up today it was hard to resist....
1971... This car has new everything... It was what we call a Mouse Job simply because mice ravaged this car. All new everything inside and out and I thought you all might enjoy.
The lower dash pads are the newest versions and my gosh the fit is better than the original GM pads in my own car. This was a complete front to rear top to bottom frame on restoration.... I've very please with how well this car turned out...
The carpet set is ACC, the Dash, door panels, seat covers, and other parts are Corvette America.
The wheels are the chrome plated Rally wheels and I actually like them.
I'll be putting a bunch of pictures of this car on the site soon.. I'll be putting a "customer cars" section up this weekend so you guys can email me your best pictures and I'll put them up!

Looking good VetteHalen! So what size tires, rims and backspacing are you running?
Thanks!
let's see, after looking for these wheels/tires for over a month last year and having the backspace/offset ingrained in my memory... i forgot, so i had to check the paperwork.
the tires are Firestone Firehawks, 255/60 15 all around (though sometimes i think i should have pulled the trigger on wider tires in the back). ordered from Tire Rack.
on the rims, i believe the backspacing was 4", with a -19mm offset. 15x8.
i had to test-fit several rims at my local shop because even though they fit "on paper", the problem i kept running into with steel rims was the spokes not clearing the caliper. until we found these aluminum rims (which i believe were pick-up truck wheels!) i sent them off for black powder-coating and i'm a happy camper.
looking to add mine but when following FAQ directions, don't see manage attachment button after main post reply--in addition at bottom of this page says

Notice it says I can't post attachments which I'm guessing is why I don't see the manage attachments button described in the FAQ-can someone help?
Thanks
pete...different levels of membership have different conditions I think. I pay a little each year and it lets me post photos. Lowest level of cost is what I picked. Love the info and looking at people's cars.

do you see the "Insert Image" icon/button? It's the little yellow box with little gray mountains and sun.
This is what I see at the bottom of this page:
You may or may not have the button available yet. It does depend on your membership status but doesn't require you to pay. The more posts you "contribute," the faster you'll get to the next level (but I don't remember what the specific numbers are). So, you may need to comment without pictures for a bit before you can post pics...
thanks for input wanted to put up my lt-1 to show how the white strips look nice agains the black but oh well thanks again
you could also upload the image to ImageShack (or Flickr) then just paste the url/web address here. we can click the link to see your pic (i'm curious to see your white-on-black LT-1 and i bet others are too). just a thought...
