Possible next project.
I'm going to check this out this afternoon. It's about an hour away. 1962 *****'s Jeep Wagon, and has a Chevy 350 with headers, a hydraulic clutch, 4WD, no heater or wipers or exhaust(I'll have to do that) 4sp, body is good, paint rough. Wonder if I can squeeze a 454 in there??? The firewall was cut back to allow room for the HEI distr. That's where the wiper motor was.
I want to license this as a regular passenger vehicle instead of a classic or antique -which means the wipers would need to work.
Was a driver until 1989 and then it's been parked. Engine hasn't been started in about a year. Present owner didn't do the V8 Conversion so is unsure of what year the engine is. Frame looks good in that last shot.
Good news is my wife loves it, I almost fell off my chair when she said lets go look at it. She even said she would want to drive it too. She saw a modded one in an Eddie Bauer catalog a few years ago and has liked them since.
Guy just called, he got the engine started but can't get the clutch to disengage.
That's not unusual on a vehicle that has sat for a while Len. The clutch disc actually sticks to the flywheel or the pressure plate after never being disengaged for the that long. Or it's possible there is a failure in the hydraulic actuating mechanism, just like a brake hydraulic failure, and the pressure plate isn't being disengaged. Neither item is a biggie for rejection, in my opinion. Go for it.
