Default Bird dropping stain

Not on my vette..

Left my DD in a parking garage at the airport while I was traveling for a couple of days...came back to a nasty dump on the hood...friggin bird must of had refried beans or something

Anyway, washed the car. I can still see a stain. What's the best way to get rid of it? The finish is black clearcoat.

Paul

A clay bar should work on that as long as it didn't bake into the paint. Another method is to use a vineager and water solution and soak the area. You could also try a little 3M polish with a fine grit to it and then finish with something like a wax or sealant to protect it if you got the stain out. Good luck.

They are hard to fix. Bird poop is Uric acid. Once its had the chance to work all you can do is remove paint until it's smooth again.

Used Clay Bar...ended up doing the whole car...then polished...then waxed. The while your at it ended up taking the whole day!

Looks as if the stain is gone, but it's hard to tell in my garage and it's not bright enough out to see very well. I'll check in the morning.

I used Meguires stage 1 polish and stage 2 wax. I was very impressed with the polish...but not the wax..seams to"smear" if it is touched (or walked on)...damn cat!

it is gone...think it was a combination of previous wax coating, clay bar, polish and new wax...plus I got to it within a couple of days.
