Default Interior Dye tips

A while back I dyed about 3/4 of the pieces for my 74 with silver dye bought from Eckler's and Corvette America. The temperature inside the garage was 98 degrees. The parts using both types of dye came out gray, had very little shine, and in some cases had a rough texture even after clearcoating them. Later I learned from forum members that high temperature and humidity could create such a problem because the laquer dye dries very quickly. Am happy to say I resprayed them this weekend with the garage temp at 70. The difference is night and day. The freshly dyed parts came out with a great shine & excellent coloring!! They look brand new! Same can of dye as was used before ... so just wanted to write a quick note for those of you considering the job. Temperature made a HUGE difference.

High humidity will do the same.
