My windscreen is currently out, it is getting replaced because of a crack, I had the glazier (windscreen guy) take it out and give me a couple of weeks before he installs the new one.
I am already going to strip and POR the birdcage (which is thankfully original and in unbelievable condition).
I was just wondering if there are any other jobs that you recommend I do while the windscreen is out.
Maybe take the top of the dash out and replace the speakers? All the things behind the dash are hard to work on, but with the window out they would be much easier to get to.

Yeah thanks for that I will have a poke around in there and see if there is anything that needs attention.
Unfortunately due to the lead time it takes for me to get parts here (at a realistic price) I can't really replace anything (much as I would like to), but I guess a cleanup wouldn't hurt.
There are retainers that hold the stainless molding to the header which are usually rusted. Get a repair kit from one of the vendors like Corvette America or Mid America and replace them. Also, if you have surface rust on the frame around the windshield paint it with Por-15. Don't get any on your hands because it will be there until your skin wears off.
