since i live in michigan and we have moist winters and my vette will be outside under a tarp since it wont fit in the garage and my friend that i live with parks his PONTIAC SUNFIRE in the garage, i need to reduce the surface rust on my chrome.... my dad told me to spray it wd-40 and it'll keep the water from sitting on the chrome.... i think wax will work but it's my rear suspension that i'm worried about and i think the wax with get in areas that will be a pain to get out next spring....... any suggestions on a spray water repellant or the like?

A Sunfire is in the garage instead of a vette. That being said the WD-40 will work and use a good wax on the surface chrome.

I would be yanking that Sunfire out of the garage....
i cant really say anything but that he's lazy and the reason he parks it in there is that his passenger window switch is broke and the window is down about 1/4 of the way... he cant fond a switch.... i told him that i'll just jump the wires that roll it up..... he seemed a bit hesitant..... wtf.....
plus i live in his basement...finished...not bad but i think i'm getting cranked on rent though......
besides that, things are well except i still need to get the motor running... i think i'll buy one of those white pipe frame shelter units thingys to put the vette in...... this way i can also try to work on it......
how hard will the vaseline be to take off in the spring, can i just power wash it off?....

I just re-read your post. You wouldn't want to use the vaseline on any part that's difficult to get to, i.e. rear suspension. I've used a brillo pad to remove the vaseline afterward. But that was a long time ago, I suppose today, you could remove it with liquid Dawn.
