I'm still wondering if "illusive" is some homemade word that has to do with light transference (like "illuminating" re: the lenses) or a bizarre version of "elusive."

I wish I could put this dispute to rest . Like I said I will be home in 1 week to confirm any disputes, I really wish I had a photographic memory so I could tell you guys one way or the other. I never really worried about looking fast...just going fast .

Yeah, I'm very curious about the lenses true colors. I'm also looking forward to an Aussie member posting pics of his Vette, I think a '79, which he says has amber tail lights of some kind. I think this may be a chase where the goose gets caught.
Checked the lenses and they appear to have been been painted with a special amber lens paint. The globes could also be painted I suppose which would have the same effect. If this is not available in the States I may be able to help.

Thanks for checking Chris. I've seent eh amber lens paint here, so that's something not hard to do. Thanks again for checking.
Here is my 79 it does not have amber lens but it sure looks like it does...flash on the camera did this(just a little experiment I did)
I guess it was just light effect. Man those things look amber. I personally think if GM had made some that looked liek that it would have gone over very well with a lot of Vette owners. I kind of like the look of them being amber.
