At recent show, I saw a black 1972 Coupe that had the word "special" on the trim tag.
I know that black is NOT a regular production color in 1972, but could this car be a special order color? How can you authenticate that it was painted black from the factory?
I read somewhere you coud get a car in primer from the factory and the paint code would be special. then again, maybe I drink to much and dreamed it up

, but I didnt know you could do this in 72 as well. There was some debate on if a car with a "special" paint trim code would be NCRS in primer or ????
