Seeing another thread made me wonder if I could hunt down my mothers 72 stingray. Just like the other thread, I have little info on the vette. It was conv. and the color was a darker British racing green. It was sold in Perry, Kansas (near topeka and lawrence) around 1981 or early 80's for around $6000. I believe it was sold to someone in Rossville, KS. That corvette and my mother is what got my obsession with corvettes started. Long shot but thought I would try. Thanks
Begin with the Kansas DMV. I would think they could search their records, but at the least they would want a VIN and a fee. Partial VIN will be 1Z67x2S5XXXXXX. x will be K, L, or W depending upon the original engine installed. XXXXXX will be the car's consecutive unit number. If you have any documentation to help fill in the Xs, you'd have a leg up on the search.
Good luck with the hunt.
