Ok I posted last night got 4 replies need more help!
support is in but not bolted so that I can push as far forward as possible.
shroud is in place
But I an not clear the bottom out let on the radiator!!
I need some help tring to keep from dinging up my new dewitts rad!
Will removing the hood do it????
Tom made a good suggestion...tape cardboard to protect core on both sides....(then remove after rad is in position)...as far as dropping rad into position,I'm getting a friend to help as manipulating outlet past a-arm takes two people in my opinion...you don't need to remove hood...

I did not read your other post, but here is how I did it on my 70.
2 man job(my son helped).
Remove the hood. Make sure that you ink or scribe around the hinges on the hood to make install easier.
I actually took out my support out and cleaned it/repainted. I connected the rad to support and installed as one unit. You will have to angle it in...I had my son on one side and I was on the other. Doint it this way only took a couple of minutes.
I did not put the shroud in until the rad/support was in loosely and forward. I then put the shroud in and let it hang on the waterpump pulley.
The lower hose can be a biatch to put on...I think that I connected it after I tightened down the support and before reattaching the shround.
I just finished replacing my radiator this week in my 70, with a/c. I had heard every say remove hood, two man job, pull support forward, etc. Well, it wasn't the easiest thing to do, by myself, but it wasn't all theat hard afterall. After unbolting all the brackets, shroud upper and upper rad holddowns, unbolted the two small nuts at the bottom of the schroud, etc, and took a knife to break the seal around the radiator from the foam, I was ready to go. I too had the probelm of clearing the a-arm. You have to turn the radiator almost verticle, lifting up on the drivers side and pulling the lower rad outlet towards the center. Once I got it past, I basically just yanked it out with the shroud together. hardest part was I felt the shroud was what was not giving enough clearance, not hte front support. After it was out, I noticed the bottom extension of the shroud was removable. I removed the bottom extension, placed the radiator in place, the reinstalled ths shroud without the extension on. Had to "pop" it past the right a-arm, but it fell right into place. Bolted everything back on, reconnected the shroud extension, and good to go! Good luck.
This almost makes me want to buy a Mustang....
Still working at it that curved lower inlet is really killin me.
I have tilted twisted and cussed...May give up for a while..I am beaten
If you are replacing it, as long as it doesn't attach itself to somwething important, just yank it! try to get it almost verticle, with the lower outlet clearing the a-arm, and pull up and out.
Put the new one in place. Make sure it is stitting in the lower rubber supports. If your shroud has the removable lower extension, remove it. Slide the shroud into place until it hits the right a-arm. From the passenger side, just push it inwards and downwards at the same time until it pops into place.
