Yes, they are just that, covers. What you need to do is position the hose clamp so the screw/nut is at the bottom of the hose, then the end cover slides over and the slot allows for the screw.
A word of warning though, it's impossible to see if a hose is about to burst when it's covered. Ask me how I know.
I'm thinking about buying one of their kits. How do they look? Do you know if they look alrigh next to real braided lines? (in other words is it obvious that they are immitation / cheap covers and not the real thing?)

I'm interested too, but neevr had the guts to order one since I have not seen any good side by side comparos between it and real braided.
i had the SS braided hose kit on all my hoses, looks great at 1st but then turns colors after the years(4 to 6) & looks like sheet so i removed it all. stick w/the real stuff.

I like the look of the plain black hose. If routed right they can look better that stainless, and make the background for the engine all that much sweeter. No attention steeling.

Durango.....you know what I'm going to say. Don't do the braid. Like 427basketcase said, you can't see or feel the condition of the hose with braid. If you use the covers or braided hose you must be disiplined enough to change the hoses every 4 to 6 years just as a preventive measure. The braid does not stop internal deterioration of the rubber hose. The braid does protect the outside of the hose from abrasion and damage. But, if the hose was routed properly you should not need the external protection anyway. Use hard lines as much as possible to avoid hose. Just my .02.

Good advise for sure, and likely will be heeded. Thanks.
I tried them once, but never got father than the upper radiator hose. It was hard to tell if the clamp was pushed on far enough and the hose popped off running down the road. Luckily I managed to get it shut down before the temp got much over 240. But after that, I decided black hoses don't really look that bad.

They SUCK! Phoney hoses are just that, phoney, and raises the creditability the whole car. Kinks, wrinkles, dents, you name it most of the cars that have them on have one or more of these charactoristics. As a judge they turn me off.

If you only like the look of black hoses, you can get black hose and hose ends from XRP. The fake stuff is indeed just that, fake and tacky, IMO it screams cheap...hell it looks worse than a clean rubber hose.

If you want stainless braided hose, buy the real thing. Not those cheap covers.

I put them on other cars like hot rods and they look pretty good for the $$. One word of advise put them on new hoses. its a bitch tring to get them over an old hose. You can spray the hose w/armor all it helps the braided cover slide on. However I don't have them on my vette I like the look of my motor and not the hoses. You decide.
The cover kits look like an old sock wrapped on your hoses. After all the $$ and time spent on your car, go the extra couple hundred and put on real SS braid hoses. Nuthin like em, just look at TT's car

This is exactly what I would like to do, but I can't figure out how to fit braided lines to things like the brake booster, EGR, vacuum modulator off of the tranny, and to the vacuum ports on my carb - not to mention the vacuum lines for the lights. How have you guys done this?
Is there a place where I can buy fittings that will let me attach braided lines to these things?
Does anyone sell a real braided radiator hose/heater hose kit? Then again, what type of fittings would you use for something like that?
