Default quick '71 carpet question

bought my 71 in 1980 and the interior has proven over time to be very original. The front carpet on the driver side has a small seperate piece of carpet, with welting, over the the bright/dimmer switch. The new carpets, purchased from Al Knoch does not have this piece. The little pad over the bright/dimmer switch is part of the big carpet piece. I would normally assume that my original carpets are correct but maybe Bubba fixed a tear in the carpet prior to my purchase. Which is correct?

Im not familiar with what your talking about because my car had no carpet in when I purchased it. I would say its a fair bet that anything Al Knock sells is what is original. I wish I had the cash to buy his products because I always hear great things. I would put my money on Al Knock being the closest to original.

Good luck!

The NCRS judging guide will probably have the asnwer, but I'd be willing to bet Al Knoch knows his stuff.
