Default Reconditioning wheels

there's a couple of places near where i live that "recondition" wheels. my 79 L82 has the aluminum wheels. i'd like to keep them but one has a bent lip like someone ran over a curb with a flat tire and another one has a "gouge" in the side. anyone have any experience with shops that recondition bent/damaged alloy wheel? good/bad? safe? etc.

I have never had one done, but seen several that were done, some beter than others. Depending on the price you may be able to find a replacement. they are not all that expensive

really, i can't find OEM replacement aluminum wheels for less than about $600/ea. where are you getting them "cheap"?

reconditioning around here runs about $100.

i'll send you my 77 rims that need a cleanup...with tires.... if you wanna buy me a serp or cog drive setup with brackets......

i know you can recondition them yourself...... wet sand and buffing...... probably would need to re-clear them after the polish.......

see if the refinishing place clears them

you should be able to get nice wheels for $100 a piece although you may need to buy 4 of them...individually they may cost more
