Finally found a C3 to my liking. Question is, it comes with no original window sticker. Is it possible to obtain a duplicate? Thanks for the help!
Depending on the year, (like 77 and up), you can get a copy of the invoice from Allied Van (I think that's what they are called) which is listed at the Corvette Action Center webpage.
...original window sticker. Is it possible to obtain a duplicate?...
Yes and No. It's not likely you will be able to obtain a duplicate of the actual window sticker since only one was printed and it went on the car. Your best bet is to check with previous owners to determine whether one of them might have the original.
There are several sites where you provide the information about your Corvette and they will print a facsimile of how the original sticker would have looked for your car. The problem with this is that there is no authenticity. These folks work only with the information you provide.
For some 1977-81 Corvettes, Allied-Vaughn has microfiche records of actual dealer invoices. The window sticker was printed from the information on the dealer invoice. http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...x.php?cmd=area
The NCM has build sheets for most (but not all) of the Corvettes assembled at Bowling Green. Ditto on these. A window sticker would have been printed from the information on the build sheet.
You will be more satisfied with the information from a dealer invoice or a copy of the build sheet than you would with a duplicate window sticker.
Just a little hard to read but I still have the original. My 1980 started life as a dark brown and in 1999 I had a complete repaint done in Chevy Bright Red..
Yes, you can get most any kind of documentation you want for a price.
I recently spoke to a guy who will sell you the entire documentation for a car for around $1500.00
You supply the info, he makes it up and ages it so it looks like the real thing.
Scary isn't it,,,
The corvette museum can reproduce a window sticker for you. All they need is the build sheet from the car. I sent them a faxed copy, and here is what I got. Cost was $35.00 for two and one of them I got laminated
From Allied Vaughn you can obtain a copy of the original dealer invoice...a very good informative document available for Vettes 77 and newer..$50..next best thing to the build sheet or original window sticker..
Wow, $35 isnt bad. I think I might want a NEW one as my original is really faded. Ill still keep my original in a file with all my service records. Thanks for the info..
