Default Oww ... my butt

I remember when I went to MA to pickup the vette I bought from Ryan that there was a metal notch in the drivers seat that was poking me in the tail bone. What is notch for... and is there a painless way to remove it? SHOULD I remove it? I'd rather not have to put a pillow there or something and explain to every person who sits in my car lol.

I'd thinking about upgrading the top 4 inches of my drivers seat with memory foam

It sounds like one of the metal "hooks" that holds the seat foam to the seat back may not be hooked in place. If this is the case then it may be poking you in the back. You may also have some foreign object in there.

It could be an illegal alien too, did you cross any borders?

perhaps there has been some metal fatigue and the back of the seat bottom is broken

Strange ... MASS-hole seat syndrome. I had it until I moved North.

Seriously, can you post a pic ?
That would help a lot ... or is it not visible ?
Maybe you just need new seat foams - or a spring is bent up.

What year ? I thought he had a mid-70s.

I'm betting you have a broken seat back release.
Can the seat back move forward without pressing the chrome button ?
If broken, you might have a short length of the steel strap
still attached to the seat bottom and protruding forward.
Flip the seat forward and check it out (rear of seat bottom).

no pic yet but i saw the car again and it looks like its a metal "spine" that runs up the back of the back rest. Not sure why its there but some of it came down and bent in a loop and the loop is what is poking me in the booty.
