Wheel size
I am running P225 R70 15 tires, is there a way to tell what size rally wheels I have? Width is what I am looking for.

Stock wheel is 15x8 for late model C3's some very early ones were 15x7. for your next question a 255/60/15 will fit no problem.

Actually my next question was going to be can I stay with current tire size on 15x8 wheels; didn't want to have to go to a wider tire to fit the 15x8 we are thinking of buying. Thanks.

Sorry do that to the wife also. Yes I would stay w/the 225/70/15 they are the stock size and look good on the car.

I have 225's on the front of my '71 and 235's on the back. If you go much larger on the front, you have some risk of having tire rub when you are at the steering extremes.

Kansas123,
Here is the C-3 standard wheel and tire data. It may help.
1968 wheel width increased to 7" wide - the only year of the 7" wheel.
1968-1972 All Tires were F70x15, blackwall, whitewall, or white letter.
1969 wheel width increased to 8"
1973 Radial Tires introduced - GR70x15 became standard size.
1976 Aluminum wheels introduced as an option.
1978 first year "60 series" tires were made available.
1978 Tire size became metric P255/60R15 or P225/70R15
as we say in the South - DARE 'TIS.

I have 245/60 on all four corners of my '70. The fronts just barely rub at full lock.
