When I bought my vette it had sat for 15 years, when I got it home mice where still coming out of it. I parked it in my garage and open up everything and threw my cat in there and closed the garage door, after a few days no mice, the only problem was I couldn't keep my cat out of the vette for the next six months.
Had to share this, so dont use your cat!!!
Oh by the way I have replaced my carpet etc and it has been three years and my car still has a little smell of them dam mice in it.
Mice are at bay, but the damn flying squirrels in my attic are "in for it".
This whole thread is BS without a pic !!!!
Here is what I found when first opening the '75 dash area up:
How'd you like to be sitting in the passenger seat and open that ball
vent on the first ride of Spring. Yuk.
OT...but our issue here is gophers...finally backed my Trooper up to yard, and hooked up my shop vac hose to exhaust and put hose over hole...took just ten minutes...killed the whole clan...
Cat keeps garage free of mice...even killed a rattlesnake this year...

My cat ain't going anywhere near the garage. We did keep her out there years ago but that ended when I found her sprawled accross the roof of my Mustang.

I just put our cat in there for a few hours now and then and watch him..if he sniff's out a mouse,I set a glue trap/peanut butter bait.....he likes to sit on top of the vettes, too. So I put an old blanket over car cover...he is mainly an "outdoor" cat...
I backed out the Vette a few weeks ago and got out to get something in the garage. As I was walking back I saw one of the lil mfr's running away and another running up under the dashboard. I set some good old mousetraps with peanut butter on the floorboard and caught 3 over 3 nights.
I have the sonic deal too, but still caught another one last Saturday! Let me tell you though - do NOT set a trap and fail to to check it every day! If you think mouse turds stink, a rotting carcass isn't pleasant either.
I've used this "bag" for over 15 years now. They are no longer produced but someone makes a zippered "fabric" bag now. It's large enough for a motorcycle inside it too.
