I use Corvette Central frequently. Almost always the best prices. Yeah they backorder occasionally but so does everybody else. If I need something in a hurry I call the order in so I can confirm that they have it in stock. I've also dealt with almost all they other vendors a time or two. Never a problem with them either. . . OK, I did have a problem with Muskegon Brake.

I have had multiple shipments from just one order....if they are out....they don't hold the order to fill with the BO'd items...Almost like Christmas....packages comikng every day!!
I order form CC all of the time, and rarely do I have anything put on back order. I do shop price and parts availabilty across many vendors typically before placing an order. CC usually sends small parts via USPS which saves me money. They always notify me by email when parts are shipped, and if they are being drop shipped from the original supplier. CC has no way of verifying the other guys did their job right, but if not, they will work with you to get it corrected. Corvette America is a major supplier of interior pieces sold by the vast majority Corvette Vendors, and while I like to work with the original supplier of a part, we all know you can get those Corvette America interior parts cheapest from Willcox. If I want a set of March Pulleys, I don't pay extra to Jegs or Summit, I order it from March. Some vendors make it hard on them selves by not having online order systems. I wanted some C4 parts made by Breathless, and could easily have ordered them from CC. I ordered from Breathless, (phone orders only) they took my info and credit card over the phone and did not bother to repeat a single thing back to me. Parts were sent to the wrong address. Brown comes to visit me often and figured out the address snafu and I got my parts. I have recently bought from CC, Zip, Paragon, Keens, Doc Rebuild and a number of small vendors that I got business cards from at Carlisle, local Vette shows, or here on the forum. I would say that 98% of the guys out there supporting our habit do a good job. Things can go wrong, but most of them will fix them. If you have a problem with backorders, phone your order in and specify that you are only ordering parts that are available to ship now. The one time in the last 5 years that CC BO'd something on me, they followed up to verify that I still wanted the part before shipping.
I have been been buying Vette parts for several years...and I always come back to CC...good service, email updates on your order, good products and competitive prices...not the cheapest. Most of all they have the biggest selection. CC works for me!!!

ME TOO!! they are my first choice for virtually everything buy interior parts (nobody, but nobody beats wilcox as far as that goes in my opinion)!!
i have always found CC to be helpful and knowledgable, prompt shipping good quality stuff. i can't honestly remember a problem i've ever had with them.

Was that oil pan for a Big Block?
I have been looking for a 454 OIL PAN for a few weeks now.
Sounds like they will have one in stock ... I reckon I will go
ahead and order one in a few days!

Sheldon....I was just pulling your chain....but I didn't mean to pull it that hard. They "think too highly" of their oil pans! I can't afford it....or actually I just can't justify the price for a simple oil pan. I will have to keep hunting.
Thanks again for the distributor you sent me a few weeks ago. You have fast shipping and the distributor was exactly as you described!
Guess I am one of the lucky ones...ordered many items in the past from the biggies(CC,ZIP,Ecklers,Summit). Never any really problems except a bad quality water valve from one of them.
Backorders? Every once in a while I'll get a back-order. But I plan my work way in advance so I can order all the parts ground freight. By the time I'm doing the job, hopefully I have all the parts.
Ok...guess I may have jinxed myself...put an order in today. Mufflers, intermediate pipes, and 4 or 5 other parts (clamps, etc.) to do the install job. I asked the customer service girl on the phone how it would ship. She said most likely it would ship UPS. I said good.
Got the shipping confirmations....mufflers and pipes went via UPS. The rest is coming via USPS in 2 different small shipments. So, I guess I will get them at different times since it will take a week for USPS and 3 days for UPS...Good thing I planned ahead to do this over Thanksgiving weekend...hopefully all of it arives by then....oh yea, no backorders.
Dan from CC, please explain your shipping decision.
