Just signed on as a new member...been viewing the recent posts and already have learned alot. I had the same problem as others with the wires being reversed on the wiper switch, great info. Since this is a restoration project I need to change out the upper dash pad. Is this a big project or not? I see the screws along the leading edge of the dash is that what holds it on or are there other clips/screws and etc. I would sure like some responses to this question. Thanks for your responses.
There is one hidden bolt that has to be removed. In order to gain access to the bolt you will need to remove the passenger side panel, then you will be able to see the metal bracket and corresponding bolt. It also helps to remove the pillar post pads when removing the dash cap.

Welcome to the forum. My advice would be to purchase an owner's manual for your '76 if you don't have one and to purchase the '76 assembly instruction manual. The AIM shows how the car was assembled at St. Louis, list orignial part numbers, torques, notes on assembly, how to adjust door glass, wipers, etc., and is about the most valuable tool you can have when it comes time for restoration or redo.
Changing a dash pad isn't rocket science, but in addition to the trim screws you can see, there will be at least one (and possibly more than one) bolt up under the pad which you cannot see with the passenger's dash pad in place. The AIM will show you exactly where to find it.
Welcome. Two pieces of advise. Fill out a profile and pick a cool avatar & ALWAYS include pics. We love pics. If you don't know how to host or insert images, see this link. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1336867
If you do, then awesome. Post some pics of your car here. Go crazy. Inside, outside, from all sides...engine, and list your mods. We love that stuff. Again, welcome, and I hope we can all be of help whenever you have problems.
Great to welcome another 76 owner. One trick I found that made it easier to get all the upper dash clips in at the same time was to put a small amount of grease on the clips before sliding the new one in.
Woo hooo... I'm also a new 76 owner! Bought mine in August and have just recently joined here. Am now just going through the 27 pages of threads. What a great place this is!
