Didn't those steering wheels come in Chevy Citations too?
It didn't come on a Citation,...but it DID come on Chevelle Malibu SS, Camaro Z-28, K-5 Sport Blazer, AND the infamous Vega GT's.
This was Chevrolet's "Sport" steering wheel before it ever became the Corvette wheel. It first came on the scene in 1970 on the Camaro Z-28's. and continued in the Camaro lineup all the way through 1981. It just so happened to come on the 1976 Vega GT's, which is what stuck in everyone's mind.
I personally love the way they feel in your hand, and I even like the way they look. Just a little touch of unique!!

I know you can get you vette's birth date on the c3 registry, but you may have to start a thread for 77's, like the one on 76's. It would be interesting to see when your vette was made, and where other owner's vettes fall in.

I actually know the date...it's on a sticker on my car, but I would think a '77 thread would be cool. I want whoever made the '76 one to start it since I don't have the foggiest how to go about this.

The build dates are not exact. My '76 has a door plate that says E11. Since production started in August, that translates to December 11. Using the C3 registry with my VIN, it shows up as December 14. Just a little FYI.
I never understood why them created all the codes for the dates. Why not code it like a computer would. Is it because they didn't understand how the date would roll over at a millennium change?
