Ok so I started telling the wife that I was going out to the garage to mess about with the vette for 1/2 an hour this morning and 3 1/2 hours later I had the interior of the car out (one thing led to another - you know how it goes!!)
Anyway I want to take the carpet out to give it a good clean but I can't get the !@#$%^ seatbelts off!! They are held on with a star? type bolt that I assume needs a special tool to remove?
A 1/4" allen key fits it pretty well but I cant shift them and dont want to screw the head of the bolt up.
So what do I need to get this bolt off , whats it called (I assume its a kind of socket?) ,and where can I get it?
Thanks for your help
Picked up a t50 torx driver today - All 4 bolts came out no problem - Amazing what you can do with the right tools
What the hell were they thinking putting those bolts in in the first place - whats the point?
Am I supposed to put them back in with a torque wrench? - if so what torque? Think I will put a little anti sieze paste on them when they go back in if they are supposed to be problem bolts.
Thanks to those that offered advice - carpets now out and cleaned
Drying in garage as I type
