Default Removing Seats

Sorry if this is a basic question, but this is all new to me! I am planning on removing my seats on my 77 so they can be recovered (not by me). Are there any tips or tricks or things I should be aware of when it comes to removing\installing the seats?

TIA

As long as the seat tracks slide like they should it's a piece of cake. A fairly long extension on the socket for the rear bolts is handy. On the '76 there are nuts welded to the bottom of the floor pan so there is no need to go underneath. One bolt on each corner. So easy even I can do it.

Ahhh, but getting them back in requires a great deal of technological skill and finess. I should have mentioned that the moon and stars and all the planets must be perfectly in line at exactly midnight on the fifth night of the second month when removing the seats. Otherwise, getting them back in will be near impossible.
JK of course. Glad someone is making progress today.

Do you know if I will be as lucky, with bolts welded to the bottom floor pan. I have a '72 and the seats are on the incorrect size (for no apparent reason). Thanks!

Sorry, I really don't know. I've not been fortunate enough to own a chromie yet. Two kids in college and another going next year. Either way, it should be no problem to get the seats out. Just remember the moon and stars stuff.

Not really too sure how they are connected on a '72, but I don't think they can be welded to the floor plan because 72's have fiberglass floors if I'm not mistaken. There may be a bracket that goes across the floor and the nut maybe welded to that perhaps. One way to find out, get under there and take a look. Either way it should pretty much be a piece of cake.

Completely disassemble your headlight assemblies. Replace all the corroded parts with new. The above alignment problems will be equally applicable. I was tempted to disassemble my early C3 vacuum actuated windshield mechanisms and renew them until I was told that putting them back together in working alignment was difficult. After the headlights...didn't touch the windshield mechanisms. i
