Default What the devil

Can anyone tell me what the devil this stupid part is, it says Tung Sol on it. I decided to take a photo since I was taking the console apart to replace the neutral/backup/safety switch anyway (and now I have backup lights, hooray!)

Many thanks and Merry Christmas

I'd say directional signal flasher. Are the wires same color as my 71'? Normally it's round and clips on a bracket behind the dash.

I can't quite tell what colors the wires are to it. On a 72 it might be anti-theft relay. Don't know what year your car in the picture is. Sorry I cant' help more..........

The Vette is a '72, and I know this is not the turn signal fuse because it's round little body is tucked under the right lower dash pad. Here is a better picture showing the wires and 'relay' more clearly. The AIM that I have does not show what this is but appears to reside behind the right console access panel, maybe for easy access to change it upon failure.

No, no little holes. What a mystery. Guess I could crank 'er up and unplug it and see what gives. The wires go into a big bundle that's probably a harness so tracing them back will be a task. I was hoping it had to do with the wipers, as I haven't gotten them to move yet, there is so much to check when it comes to those.

Nothing like it on my 71', but it's a no option car. Maybe you have an option I don't have.

Default Here's my guess ...

Since I also have had my head under my '75's dash lately, I looked at my AIM and I'll through out that maybe this is the seat belt warning buzzer.

I decided it was such a nice day I'd take 'er out for a spin, when I got back, I parked in the driveway and got out to check some things out. When I got back in to drive into the garage, not fastening my seatbelt of course, low and behold, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. THAT STUPID LITTLE THING IS THE DOGGONE ROTTEN STINKIN' FREAKIN' SEATBELT BUZZER. MAN I AM GLAD THAT'S OVER.

Good to know! If it fails sometime in the future, I won't replace that one. Taking apart the dash is a pita.
