4 Speed Shift Boot Installation
Going to install a new leather shift boot. Any tips or tricks to this project? (73 4 speed with AC). Looks fairly straightforward except for having to deal with the AC wiring and controls attached to the trim plate.
What do the 4 screws that hold the leather boot in place screw into--just the console trim plate itself? Is there a metal collar or ring under the console trim plate that hold the boot in place?
All tips, comments or suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

That is an easy replacement. Just remove the center console chrome trim plate, believe 4 screws. When you left it up watch of the wires of the lighter. The boot just attaches with 4 screws. Replace boot and reinstale trim plate.
