Is there any count of how many 1974 454 with 4 speeds are left.

This is all I could come up with, but it includes all '74 Corvettes.

• 33.7% had four-speed manual transmissions (down from 41.2% last year)

I have the stock 454 (just cleaned up, bigtime, thanks to Corvettes of Auburn in WA) in my manual vert.

Pretty rare car, if I remember right from the stuff my dad told me before he gave it to me.

According to my 1974 Corvette Vin Registry, there are 77 out of 181 454's accounted for with 4-speeds.

Send me your 1974 VIN and car info.

Are you saying GM built only 181 454 4-speeds ????? Or are you trying to reconcile the Vettes listed on the Registry ????? Just curious

matching number 1974 454 coupe

I have a matching number 1974 454 coupe with an automatic transmission and 53K original miles.
VIN# 1Z37Z4S420383. Matching numbers 454/270 horse power engine, Casting # 3999289, Date code B774, Pad # T025CWR 14S420383. Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Rear end code AW, 3.08:1 Positraction, and B.F. Goodrich tires. . Paint code is 74L (dark red), but it is now torch red. Optioned with factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt and telescopic steering column; interior (Trim code 404) has Black deluxe leather seats with wood grain door panels, shoulder harness, and seat belts. It also has a luggage rack, and the upgraded Corvette stereo/cassette/radio, A Very nice original dash pad with no cracks in the upper and lower console, and newer deluxe carpet.
Runs and drives nice.

Thanks for providing your VIN and info. Automatics are quite plentiful, accounting for roughly 2/3 of total production.

Can't remember the exact number, but I read somewhere the attrition rate for Vettes is 2% per year which would mean, for instance, only 51% 1974 Vettes still exists.

I just installed ZZ502 , with tremec 5 speed and converted to hydo clutch.
