Not sure what the point is of calling the owners of Mopars "stupid" and the Roadrunners "pigs". Probably does little other than advance the notion of "arrogant Corvette owners" which most of us aren't.
Those old Road-Runners were (and are) great fun,..you could write a book on their accomplishments at the drags for which they're more suited than a Vette. And Chrysler won more than "their share" of NASCAR races in their "pigs" in the 60's and 70's. And as for as being overweight, what if I told you my 73 Vette has a curb weight of 130 lbs more than a 69 big block Road-Runner.
And, no, the RR wasn't built for the slalom and yes, a Vette would take the Plymouth, but who would even bring that up. For the record, Road-Runners were not sports cars,..in fact, I think the 69 Road-Runners had drums on all four corners,..maybe someone can confirm.
But what a great contribution to muscle car history.

A more interesting comparison would have been a stock '69 L88/ZL1 vs a stock '69 Hemi Roadrunner.
Back in the street war days we had a radical 67 Hemi GTX that would do 10 second quarter miles with 4.10 posi 4 speed vs a 69 427 Motion vette ,,,damm close, one would win then the other, then we would all go to the orange julip afterwards for burgers and a pop
...makes me think of 2 lane blacktop...
Think you are right...chat on mopar forums talk about later year spindles to back fit disc's on RR's....
I just know I bought a set of '73 discs to change the front drums on my '71 to disc. I had a lot of trouble finding those, let alone anything for the '70 Charger. I saw some, but they were very expensive. I saw none at all for the '69...which was a totally different car from the '70.
