ANYONE EVER USE A "WHEELSKINS" STEERING WHEEL COVER? FITMENT? LOOKS?
THANKS
VC
Personally I think steering wheel covers are tacky. If you don't like the condition of the factory wrapping, you can have it refurnished. Or, you can buy a new nice wheel, like a nice Momo, and save the original in case the car is ever sold.
I just put a Wheelskins cover on my daily driver (Mazda 3). I went with a two-tone version. It looks much better than the stock steering wheel on the car and the feel is much better too. The trick is installation. You need to do it slowly and carefully or it can look pretty bad. Make sure the seams on the cover are aligned correctly. If you get it right, it looks good. If not, you will probaby either scrap it or spent a bunch of time re-stitching it.

I am curious to hear about Wheelskin Steering wheel covers also. I just saw on the C-2 forum the other day where a member there had a 73' C-3 Corvette Wheel Leather covered to put on his C-2. I was thinking of doing the same for my C-2 since a C-3 wheel is smaller if I could find a nice C-3 wheel around. Here is the link to the C-3 wheel that is recovered with Leather: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...1579875&page=8

I guess a wheelskins taken to an upholstery shop would be a goo idea...that what they do after all.
I was thinking of taking mine to a shoe repair shop, and have them wrap it soft glove leather?
Soft glove leather is easy to tear, and that'd be a nightmare if you paid a lot of money for a custom wheel cover and had it tear because your keys were in your hands or a ring on your finger or something.
