Default Rear Spring Rate

Hallo,
driving a 72 Corvette with a 454, around 500hp.
I intend to replace the old steel leaf spring with a fiberglass spring.
What spring rate should I select in order to get good performance
and a good smooth ride.
Any advice?

I have a 73 with a 454 and about 500 flywheel ponies,..alum intake, and alum heads, so the engine weighs just a bit more than an iron SB. So I went with a 330 lbs spring. I haven't installed it yet, but I'm hoping the 330 is a good compromise spring,..ride quality vs. handling.

FWIW.

O.K.
Found some old documentation. Some years ago I bought another rear spring for my 82-Corvette. Spring rate is 340 lbs/in. The car really handles good, so I will go at least with same rate for the BB.
