Not really. There is a trim tag on the drivers door jam by the hinges that list the color code and interior code. Only thing like an option tag is the tank sticker. When being built a carbon build sheet was taped to the top of the gas tank so that the line workers would know what went on that car. Probably not much left of it after 30+ years. Hard to get to anyway if it should still be there. But if there it is gold

Also, 4-speed cars had a welded in trans crossmember while the auto's were bolt in. That could tell you if original 4-speed (unless frame has been replaced).

Tom
Thanks for the information I will check for the paint code tag.The tank sticker will be gone as the tank was replaced before I bought the car.

If the engine is original, the engine code suffix stamped on the block will tell you whether the engine was assembled for auto or manual transmission.

Clean off the pad and jot down the numbers.

I assume that's your yellow Vette in the avitar. The 74' paint code for yellow is 956 (Bright Yellow).

Here's all the paint codes. Take the number to your local Automotive Paint Supplier and he should be able to fix you up.
