That's a rear fender shoulder. The ridge that flows back from the door jamb.

Bingo Durango...hey that sounds good!
It was off the original rear body of my 72, upper rear fender on the RS. I was cutting a fender off and couldn't figure out why the sawzall was bogging down with just fibreglass. Before I could see what was going on I kept pulling the blade out thinking the blades screwed. That is more than an inch of short strand fibreglass filler that has built that fender up, I couldn't believe it when I saw it(little pun there).

I have a better firewall back body that is completely rust free. The rear fenders on that had a little damage so I thought I will check the condition of the fenders on the red one before I throw it away. Turns out the left rear one is great, thats the one I need the most. Thats why I took it apart. That red body is very rotten.

Going to have the old fender off and the new one on today or tomorrow. Already have the paint stripped. I'll start a new thread for the fender reno.
