Default update 2 on disassembled vette

Kakankee IL. Well boys,I went and looked at the vette today, for the first time. Of course it was pouring down rain, puddles, wind and of course, I have a cold already. I still dont know the year of the car (didnt ask),but appears to be between a 78 and an 82.,T top..it has the "large" sloping back window. Twas baby blue in color. The closer I got,the more "disassembled" it became. The doors were piled in the "tub" of the car, glass in them. The tub was striped clean of all parts, except the windshield and back ,defroster glass.I was told that there were more parts inside the shed, but i didnt look. There were 2 frames, with at least one complete rear end,not sure of the other. (did i say it was pouring rain?) I checked the "kick up area" on both frames, appears to be surface rust only.Same with the bird cage. The frames were stripped clean, one may still have had a rubber brake hose attached. No motor,no trans, not sure about drive shaft. I did not see any interior pieces at all,but was told...more parts in the shed. Although I want a project vette, this is far beyond what I am willing to tackle, even if it is only a thousand bucks. My buddy ,who is the contact with the guy, said he will work on him and try to get the price reduced. The front end had been taken off (cleanly) and put aside. Evidently, the wind had been playing with it..several cracks and a piece of the passengers "fender" was missing. I think the hood was there as well, but not sure anymore..did i say I have a bad cold already? All that being said...I was surrounded by 41 Willeys coupes, 5 window fords,,a 59 vette..and on and on.sigh,

ghoastrider,
If you're looking for an easy and affordable project car how about this?
My buddy here in Palm Springs has a 1979 L-48 automatic. Runs/drives great, just passed smog. It was originally white with a dk. blue interior. Someone painted it maroon (yuck). Needs to be repainted, needs the seat buns recovered, various odds & ends need doing. Has new door panels and new carpet set. Has nice tires on a set of Centerline wheels. And of course it's a clean rust free california car.
This is an easy "drive as you restore" Corvette. He wants $4,000 for it.
If you're interested I can hook you two up.
Best,
Greg

Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. I think I can get the vette in Kakanakee cheaper and thinking of parting it out.
