Just installed mine in my 77 in the rear, it fit good. Had to do some trimming on the strorage box lids, but with carpet, trimming is better than trying to add some.. I have their carpet in both my 81 and 77, and it seems to fit as good as the GM would have in 81 and 77. It was dropped shipped from ACC, though. The Willcox guys are easy to deal with and very helpful.. Just my 2 cents worth............
I’m sorry you have had this issue, it’s not very often we have an issue with the Carpet sets made by ACC.
You should put the carpet set back in the box it was shipped in. Call Sales at 800-588-3883 and tell them about your problem. Have your invoice handy and tell them to send a pick up label for the defective set. A replacement set will be sent out ASAP. If you already have part of the carpet in the car, then tell them what section won’t fit. If you have a digital camera, take a few pictures and send them to Norm@willcoxcorvette.com. It’s always easier for him to see things first hand. If you have any issues with this at all, email me direct at willcox@willcoxcorvette.com.
I really appreciate the offer, but the carpet is fully installed and I am not about to do it again. Not to mention the cost of the glue. I think I'll just have to live with it.
It’s too late… I emailed Shea at ACC and told her to send you a new rear section. I can’t stop it once the order is put in production…. Just keep the extra rear or sell it. If you decide to install it, let me know and I’ll have sales send you a can of the 3M glue.
I apologize for the issue and wish you had maybe stopped and called us.
Issues do not have to be put in the public spot light to be solved. We have a customer service email address for anyone with a problem. We just have to know about it. willcoxcustomerservice@willcoxcorvette.c om
If you don’t want to hang on to the extra rear section, when it arrives please contact me and I will have shipping send a UPS call tag to pick it back up from you.

I'm sure it will be ACC as well. Mine was. The biggest problem was in the rear kick panel area like 79vetter said. I've been watching your interior resto thread. I can't imagine what as PITA it's going to be putting that dash back in. I pulled my center guage cluster as well, but wasn't brave enough to try to pull the dash or the speedo cluster.
I REALLY need to though because my dash doesn't fit exactly right. I gotta say that yours is looking sweet! I can't believe how good that dye looks. I wan't to dye mine as well, but am kinda hesitant to do it while it's still in the car.
Keep us posted!

I originally was not going to pull the LH lower dash/tach/speedo either. I was just going to re-dye it in the car. But once I realized I had rust in the bird cage and it was all going to have to come out to get at it, I decided to see if I could pull the cluster. Plus it would have been hard to paint the steering column etc. This way I got to polish the chrome rings on the bezels of the gauges and clean the inside faces/lens. Now I am going to change all of the bulbs etc. I just hope I can get it all back together and hope everything works again. I have the windshield out so I should be able to pull up the harness and get it all bolted in right before the windshield goes back in. I will also put the upper dash back in before the windshield. I had never worked on an old vette before soooo..lets hope it all works. LOL
This is why I have purchased for my restorations from Al Knoch, they are the manufacturer and can control their quality. Wilcox is just a distributor, but I am sure they will make it right.
Very True, remember guys a distributor is going to buy form the cheapest guy he can. The distributor really doesn't care about quality they care about $$$$$. I bought my carpet from Mid America, they also have the molds for making carpet. The carpet fits excellent. They actually give you more than you need to you can trim to your vehicle. I could of got carpet cheaper but I new fit & finish would not be there.
If you want quality you need to buy from the GM Restoration dealers. If you want price buy and deal with it. As said above if Wilcox is a quality distributor I am sure they will help you resolve your problem.
If I would of read all the way down, Wilcox stepped up to the plate.

I really appreciate the new rear section. I will definately try it and I will spring the $15 for the can of glue. I really did not intend for the thread to turn into a bashing session. I guess I should have thought it through a little more before I made the thread. I really wanted to get it installed this weekend and knew you guys wouldn't be open to contact. My thinking was I would let it sit out in the sun for several hours and hopefully it would "lay down" a little better.
Once again, I really appreciate your efforts to make it right.
Been installing carpet for years now in C3s and C4s, the best thing you can do to get a good fit is to let the carpet set in the sun or use a hairdryer to get it very warm be for installing.
For you guys installing dynamat or the like first and then installing the carpet, are you still spraying adhesive on the carpet after fitting/trimming it or are you just installing it and it stays put on its own? I am just curious as to what you guys are doing. Essentially if you are gluing it to the dynamat, its the adhesive on the dynamat holding everything up. Wondering if it will last.
ACC has been around a long time, but they were bought out a few years back and are not the same company they used to be. I had issues with their Customer Service and if I can help it will not buy from them again. Last Detail helped me and I will buy from them again, just not carpet. The fit was fine, I wanted carpet for 2 door strorage compartments instead of 3-door. I ended up buying a set of 2-door but it took 2 sets due to a color mistake and paying shipping 3 ways (2 to me, 1 back) and they were very rude about it. On Corvette carpet, your choices are to buy from them or Al Knoch pretty much. I would buy from Al Knoch, last I heard he is who the NCRS recommends for accurate carpet. Everything I have bought from Al Knoch was great.
Sometimes it's a tough balance between cost and quality. Cheap carpeting can be found, and some will work just fine for normal use...but in many cases, if you want original quality carpet you have to pay for the top of the line stuff from expensive vendors.
Thats lot better then my supplier did me. W hen i informed them of the problem with my carpet they ordered me a new "patch" and then charged me for it. Ive ordered my last interior part from them

Just off hand, could you PM me who that was so I don't order from them, and I can pass the info along to anyone else via PM?
