Panic, Don't have a picture yet, still being built, another week or so.
It's a 16ft x 81" wide, double axle with front axle electric brakes. I couldn't buy one "off the shelf" because I need it with 4" drop axles and they lower the fenders down. It has 8 d-rings spaced through the floor and rings on the front/back/sides,also a cross bar in front. Floor is 2x6 treated bolt down and finally painted grey. Some guys are buying tilt beds for lower cars, but it adds 1000 pounds. The Vette should drive on without blocking, same with my hot rods.Looks alot like a Carson trailer, but Called a Tru-trailer.
If it's a one time move, I used a U-Haul auto hauler, open trailer. Tandem axles, surge breaks when I PCS'd from Alabama to Colorado, pulled behind my Ford Expedition
what trailer specifications are the best for transporting a C3, i mean length, 2 or 4 wheels, etc...anybody has some trailer pics? thanks/Giu
Here's mine. Enclosed 16' x 8'-6", tandem axle, torsion type soft ride suspension. Full drop down rear door with extension apron for drive-in loading.
I've hauled my C3, and C5 in it, and both load without difficulty. The wheel wells are inside the trailor, so it does limit your ability to open the doors very wide. I will fix that one of these days by installing 2" x 12" runners for the wheels to rest on when loaded. For now I just crawl out through the top.

Like stated above, opening the doors is the tricky part. If you get a trailer low enough so the car doesn't scrape when you drive up the ramps, the fenders block the doors. Some tandem tailers have removeable or fold down fenders. Other folks raise the height of the car with boards - some only on the driver's side. Another technique is to get in / out of the car as soon as the back wheels are up on the trailer - so the door can swing open more fully. The car can then be winched / rolled forward in neutral to the transport position and secured.
When I transported mine home, I used the technique of removing the roof, standing up, and stepping in/out. I could open the door enough to insert /remove the key, install the roof panel, and hit the power window switch. It made me long for the days when I had a C5 with the window valet so I could open / close the power windows from the keyfob.
thanks all of you for showing your trailers and giving me all the infos, what i definitely need is an open trailer, i guess a 18' will be enough, i want to take my vette back home to italy every summer and as i usually drive with all the family in june to italy and take everybody back to spain in late august, then i could take also my vette with me, if i had a trailer...i'll check here what's ready to be bought and that could legally be driven (i know there must be a lot of BS to comply with anyway)...

I don’t know about in Europe but in the u.s. there isn’t that much to have a trailer…just registered (for the tag) and have it inspected. Don’t even need insurance because when it’s hooked up to the truck it’s on the trucks insurance

basically it's the same (i know italy but i think spain is about the same as well)...registration/inspections but i think you need a special (lorry type) driving licence to drive it IF car+trailer is longer then a certain length which i will have to check, also speed must be reduced like on trucks, i guess is 50 mlh!! so if i wanted to have a 2.000 mile trip on the motorway (like going back home on summer) it would take me maybe a week to arrive (even if i'd tow it in full security with a porsche cayenne...and not a small economy car)...
Two axles @ 3500 lbs.- common
Electric brakes on all four wheels-
15" wheels with a good load range tire.
beaver tail ( sloping rear deck) for low vehicles to clear.
16' works for me- lighter the better!
LONG ramps for loading- I ordered custom aluminum- +@300 bucks

..... most-overlooked, but much-needed accesory is a SPARE TIRE & WHEEL!!!!!
ALL my friends made-fun of me for 'paying an extra $100 for a spare' .....
..... until 15 of us are towing 200 miles to the races, and one of them suffers a flat:
How much do your trailers weigh without the car? with the car?
I believe my trailer empty tips-the-Toledos at around 1100 pounds, and while the Z28 and '82 C3 probably go 3500 themselves, I've also had a 4WD Blazer on my trailer, with no adverse effects:
you gonna do much racing in '07, ruby?
