540 Dyno Run Part II
I just got off the phone with TNBUSA. They finally got his motor on the dyno today and called him with the results. I had told him earlier to call me when he found out what the motor made.
Mike can add all the details but the hard numbers are
719 HP and 687 Ft Lbs on 93 pump gas. The pull was stopped at 6000 RPM and HP was still climbing.
Sounds like Mike put together a pretty darn good combination of parts!!!
Thanks for the post Ed, but it was only 718hp and 680 something ft lbs. We were busy when he called so I didnt catch eveything he was telling me but he did seem a little surprised with the results. Im going to pick it up tomarrow and will get a copy of the dyno sheet and some more info. Im happy with the #"s considering the fairly mild combo (weanie hyd roller cam) So Ed, whatcha doin this weekend

Oh, I want to, but I'm in my last class and need to work on that. Hay, get a can of Whip AZZ and place it on the intake when the engine is planted in the bay, 'cause that is one no non-sense piece of machinery. I bet that Yellow C6 is just nervous as hell.
Now that's just plain sexy!!! Post some video when that monster is running. I love those valve covers. I have got to get busy or I will be walking to BG this year. The burnout contest will be monumental this year!

Well, I was a little late today and they had the motor already installed when I got there. It looks great in there. And that is one HUGE carb on that bad boy. We went to a car show later in the day and there was a camaro race car there with a 750-850??, anyway, it looked puny compared to the one pictured. This is going to be fun.
Edit: I took my camera but took no pictures. Janie took some while I was there. She just has to post them in here. I will send the PM.
Is that a Keisler shift ball? I didn't get one of those with my TKO600.
Toddalin, it came with the factory looking shifter but I live close to Keisler and I asked them if I could trade for the Hurst handle with the white ball and they said sure!
Thanks Jim, Going to try to get the side pipes on today. Im not looking forward to this...the AFR's have a raised exhaust port so I dont know what all problems I will run in too.

Hey Mike,
Losing my sidepipes and Hooker headers was not an option. I was determined to make them work. But I really dreaded this part because so many said it wouldn't be possible or they would look bad from all the hacking and welding. IT WAS EASY! Cut the flange off and buy a new set. Bolt them to the heads and then feed each tube (bends easy without the flange) into a port and tach weld. I held the collector in postion with the sidepipe to make sure they were straight. Go slow!
The steering box took a little grinding but even though the head is raised it actually rolls the header out and down. I trimmed a little at the body but the rocker panel covers that.
Good luck,
Patrick
