Bolt them to the heads and then feed each tube (bends easy without the flange) into a port and tach weld. I held the collector in postion with the sidepipe to make sure they were straight. Go slow!
The steering box took a little grinding but even though the head is raised it actually rolls the header out and down. I trimmed a little at the body but the rocker panel covers that.
Good luck,
Patrick
Just going to bump this one back up to let Mike tell you of our progress today. We did pretty good but wanted to get a little further along.

Hey Patrick! The pass side went on without a hitch. The driver side is going to take a little work. The steering box is keeping it from going in so I am going to try and clearance the box slightly before I go dinging my header tube. Hey Eddie, thanks a ton for help help today!

Its always fun to be working on someone else's corvette. Its a neat project and watching it come together is sweet. The last few times we have been working on it, you can really see the difference. Changes are happening fast now.

My drivers side header already had a ding by the previous owner so just a little grinding on the box sufficed. If you ding it, install it first to see where and mark it with something that will rub off and the steering box should mask the ding when it's re-installed. I have a tall deck block plus the raised port heads so cutting the flanges and re-attaching was neccessary. Video the maiden voyage and post it for us!
Jamie, My wife is 5'2 and the hood thing is an issue. Jim offered up a Houston phone book for her.
