Default '68 Conv. (early) top header hardware

HI: I have a 68 conv. (purchased new) and have been trying to locate the right top windshield bracket which accepts the guide pin from the folding top header. My vette was built in early Mar'68. Latter corvette (Apr '68 and on) have a one piece assembly for this bracket. The bracket on my vette attaches to the top windshield header with two machine screws. Assume in some dark corner at Chevy there must be a box of these parts.

Also recently purchased an '05 coupe.

Thanks - cosquare

Hi

Those are not available anymore from GM.
On E-bay, there is somebody offering reproduction once once in a while.
Last set went for around 120 US$.

I am in the same boat as you. Myne where cracked open due to badly adjusted top.
I managed to solder them with special alu soldering rod. Difficult, but worked.
When polished , looks like chrome.

You can install the late version one pice corners, but this should be done in conjunction with a windshield change because some screws are under it.

The Ebay seller is "missbird2". I just checked and they don't have any listed. I bought some missbird2 pin receivers on Ebay a while back and they were just OK, not perfect but probably just as good as the originals (which are pretty crude). I ended up selling them because the corner castings that they attach too were in bad shape and are expensive to remove, repair and replate. I went with Paragon 1 piece corners that look great.
