I'm curious why you blanked out the tags on the back. Can't anyone see them anytime anyway? When you drive anywhere. When you park. At your house when they jog by? seems moot...what're they gonna do with it?
Anyway, I love that orange. Great job.
License plate numbers can be used on the internet to find out a lot of info about someone. It's easy. You can get their full name, address, the value of the car when registered, other cars at the same address, then you can get their drivers license number from their full name and others living at this address, when they were married/divorced and any criminal records or civil suits. IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO HIDE YOUR PLATE ON THIS WEB SITE.
Anyone can follow you home as well.............but:
1. My car is not registered to my home address, so run my plate, knock yourself out !!
2. I live in a Gated Community with pretty tight security.
3. Your plate is available to anyone anytime your on the road.
4. My Pitt Bull that lives in the garage would make certain you would only have one arm left to shift with should you get that far. Not easy driving with one arm & no Power Steering !!
5. The Baretta that is on hand should you get past the PittBull, is loaded & ready for target practice.
I can't find a more exciting reason to blow your head off if i caught you in my garage.
6. It's insured for big money, so should you get so lucky as to pry it away, there will be a big enough insurance check to buy another one like it, or even better.
( Blocking Your plate In Photos Is Only Good If You Have None of The Above Available To You, & If You Have None Of The Above Available, Then You & Your Car Are In Trouble Anyway !!! )
DON'T BE SO PARANOID, ENJOY YOUR CAR & TAKE THE RIGHT PRECAUTIONS & USE COMMON SENSE. !!
SO DO YOU WANT MY ADDRESS ?
Sure give it to me I used to be in Special Ops so I need a challange! Just Kidding!
You asked why people do it and that is one reason I am sure people do it. I do not like to give any more information about myself on the internet than I need to.

OK here is a challenge for ya.........he failed to completely cover his plate it appears to be a GEORGIA plate & his profile confirms it......
Without a plate number ( not needed ) how many 1977 orange corvettes do you think are registered in GEORGIA. I'm sure it can be narrowed down easily & found.
Bottom line, if someone wanted to be a peep & tom, spy, stalker, thief, ETC...........you don't need a plate #, if they want to find you or your car they will. I know your saying don't make it easy, but as others have stated your plate is visable / available all the time thats all.

My point is just that the same thing can be done by a next door neighbor, and anyone walking or driving by your car. The worst part is they are local...internet is distant.
Nice looking car. I like the orange on C3's as well. I also agree that smudging out the tag is a good security practice, just like NOT putting your full postal address in your profile!

Dam, I broke my own rule of staying on topic. Careful what you say/show on the net!
Nice car, love the color.

Jlelec, stripping mine to fiberglass was last winters project. I got the car fall 05, knowing I would strip and paint it over last winter, then underhood detailing/painting this winter, next winter will be rebuilding and detailing the rear end and rear suspension.
